Our team of experts crafted a cyber security plan for an Am Law 100 law firm with nearly 1,000 lawyers from coast to coast.
Our client handled threat monitoring in-house, which included all incident review and response efforts.
While few significant threats arose over the years thanks to their existing team, the company’s IT director knew it wasn’t a matter of if, but a matter of when.
The legal industry is high-profile, and breaches are common. Nearly 25% of all law firms have suffered a breach in some form. With increasing cyber security concerns and a greater need for oversight in a complex environment, our client made the decision to supplement its internal security efforts with managed security services. There was no doubt that Inversion6 would be the perfect partner.
NEARLY 25% OF ALL LAW FIRMS HAVE SUFFERED A BREACH IN SOME FORM.
By not settling for a cookie-cutter plan.
MANAGED SECURITY SERVICES
We developed a strategy incorporating LogRhythm — a security information and event management (SIEM) and SOC platform. This tool provided us with the visibility and infrastructure we needed. With the process set up in stages, data is instantly transferred to our SOC for analysis. We continue to monitor the company’s instance of LogRhythm while also monitoring east-west traffic to evaluate activity already occurring within the company’s network.
“To help complete the ‘view’ of activity on our network, Inversion6’s SOC also helps us manage and monitor Vectra appliances — designed to observe and report on east-west network traffic. That would otherwise represent a huge potential blind spot!”
INVESTING IN A CISO
In addition to managed security services, we also advised our client to invest in one of our chief information security officers (CISOs) for support. CISOs provide expert consulting on a variety of cyber security needs and goals as well as ongoing program management and reporting.
“We have a great deal of confidence in Inversion6’s abilities to deliver based on our expectations.”
ADDITIONAL SOLUTIONS
To provide a complete security and technology solution for our client, we also supported them with storage solutions, network solutions and other cyber security services. Throughout the process, we’ve monitored the effectiveness of these efforts to ensure that they have provided maximum value to the client.
“We’ve had a great deal of trust in Inversion6 throughout our relationship. It’s been a win-win partnership with a great deal of transparency.”
We embraced the challenge and didn’t rest until the resolution was implemented and exceeded the law firm’s expectations.
Thanks to our managed security services, we’ve enabled this client to more rapidly identify and assess potential threats, increase their competitiveness with new opportunities that require them to demonstrate their cyber security approach and processes, and ultimately provide greater value to their clients that have entrusted them with important, sensitive information.
“Their managed security services are exceptional. It’s helped move the needle on our maturity as an organization and has demonstrated the ability to have true 24/7 security coverage on the main parts of our infrastructure.”
Over the years, we’ve remained committed to helping this leading law firm protect its data and its clients through a full portfolio of cyber security solutions. Early on, we developed SLAs and identified expectations for our relationship and work together, and today, we continue to monitor and operate according to those metrics. We conduct frequent calls and host strategy sessions to discuss new security needs and review performance.
“Inversion6 does what they say they do. They’ve delivered in this space just as in everything else we’ve done with them.”
